Jeanne Tew
Jeanne Tew is a native Mississippian and former English teacher now enjoying retirement in Florida. She and husband Ron lived aboard their sailboat for four years, cruising the Caribbean and along the Pacific and Atlantic coasts before settling in downtown Pensacola in 2001. This adventure provided copious material for short stories and essays relating to life on the water, some of which even included tennis activities in various ports. She is currently treasurer for the West Florida Literary Federation, and several of her essays and poems have been published in the Federation’s annual anthology, the Emerald Coast Review. Her tennis expertise includes a near encyclopedic knowledge of all the right moves to make, the best shots to hit, spot-on strategy, and a complete inability to transition this absolutely brilliant brain tennis into an actual match on any given day! Besides captaining a team at Roger Scott Tennis Center, she is treasurer for the Scott Women’s Tennis Association and is also involved with several volunteer projects through First United Methodist Church. What with tennis, writing, reading, traveling, and an ever expanding brood of grandchildren (numbering, at present, eleven), with a nod to Bill Watterson and Hobbs, “the days are just packed.” Well, c’est la vie, and what a life it is!
