Joannah Martin
Although Joannah is originally from England, after meeting her husband in Michigan, they slowly began migrating south. The journey, taking ten years, took them through South Carolina, with a slight detour in Birmingham to their final destination on the Gulf coast. Even though the move is fairly new, she is well acquainted with the area. The Martin family has been vacationing in Gulf Shores for years. During her travels she has met many wonderful people. From Nascar time trials, to garden parties and working the annual Church Barbecues Joannah has integrated and gained insight into the Southern way of life. Perhaps her biggest compliment was overhearing an elderly gentleman at church say to another, “She must be from Louisiana or somewhere because she talks funny.”
While living in South Carolina, Joannah earned a BA from Francis Marion University in English. Her writing has appeared in the Baldwin Press Register, The Islander, Helena City News and First Serve Magazine. The topics she covers include tennis, travel, beauty, health, fitness, teens and real women features.
Joannah is a passionate tennis player, a manic gardener and a ready traveler. When not writing, she spends much of her time on the courts competing in the Greater Pensacola Ladies Tennis League with her teammates at Gulf Shores Tennis Center or courtside cheering her children.
